Women on a Mission - Thinking global ~ keeping local

2014 "Fairytales and Superheroes"

: It was a very proud moment last night when Women on a Mission presented a cheque to the Ailsa Craig and Area Food Bank to assist with their building fund. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our community we were able to make a donation of $7,000 to their fund. Accepting the cheque from Women on a Mission's Jenn Cavanagh, Kelly Hawkins, Lori Maslen and Sue Finch were (L) Marc Isaac, Food Bank Coordinator and (R) Mike Cregan, both Food Bank board members. This was in addition to the 230 lbs. of food raised at the gala held on Saturday, May 3, 2014 which was donated earlier. This was the BEST YEAR EVER!!!!! The total amount for the night was $50 short of $16000!!!!! Amazing. What a great community!

Superheroes, villains, princesses, evil queens, geriatric heroes and hero sandwiches all comprised to ensure another fabulous WOAM event.

A huge thank you to everyone for your ongoing, loyal support.  Your heartfelt contributions continue to provide much needed assistance locally and globally.

Funds raised this year will assist the new building of the Ailsa Craig Food Bank as well as another outreach project; this time to Vietnam. Jenn, Sue and Kelly will represent WOAM in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity, remaining true to our mission of "Thinking global ~ keeping local".

Thank you to everyone who donated to the food drive.  Close to 240 lbs.; that's how much food went to the food bank. Great job!

And, in case you're are wondering what's in store for 2015 get ready for...........
